Termes & Conditions

The purchase of any travel services offered by Taiwan Isand Tour, constitutes a contractual arrangement between you and Taiwan Isand Tour, and represents your acceptance of the Company’s Terms & Conditions set out below. 

Please ensure that you carefully read and understand these Terms & Conditions prior to booking. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your dedicated travel consultant or to our head office via taiwanislandtour@gmail.com.

Liability waiver

By booking services with Taiwan Island Tour, you have voluntarily applied to participate on one of our tours. You release Taiwan Island Tour, its employees, and partners from and against any and all liability arising from your participation in the tour or expedition.


You acknowledge that you understand the risks of traveling to a foreign country and to remote areas and are responsible for being in sufficient good health to undertake the trip. You understand that during your participation on our tour, certain risks and dangers may arise beyond our control, including but not limited to: The hazards of travelling in remote areas; travel by boat, train, automobile, aircraft, or other means of transport; forces of nature; political unrest; acts of lawlessness or terrorism; and accidents or illness in locations without means of rapid evacuation or medical facilities. Taiwan Island Tour will not have liability regarding provision of medical care or the adequacy of any care that may be rendered.

You understand that you are responsible for preparing for the trip, receiving any required vaccinations prior to travel, and for bringing the appropriate clothing and equipment as advised in Taiwan Island Tour pre-departure documents.

Gratuities

Gratuities for porters and restaurant waiting staff are included in your tour price. In general, gratuities for your guides and drivers are not included in the tour price. Although gratuities are, of course, made at your discretion, our travelers often ask for our recommendations for how to tip their Taiwanese hosts. We have outlined these below.

Gratuities for your guide: USD$10-USD$15 per person per day

Gratuities for your driver: USD$5-USD$10 per person per day

Deposits upon confirmation

After discussing with you, your tour consultant will design a customized itinerary the estimated quote for you. Please note the quote is valid for 5 days only.

30% of the total tour fee will be required upon confirmation with the remainder due 30 days prior to travel dates. Please note if you confirm inside the 30 day window we will require 100% payment in advance.

Your balance payment will be due just 30 days before you travel. If travel restrictions stop you from traveling after this time, we’ll do our best to recover any costs. If you decide to cancel for other reasons after this time, the following cancellation policy applies:

  • Between 29-25 days prior to trip departure – 25% of your total tour price will be forfeited
  • Less than 24-20 days prior to trip departure – 50% of your total tour price will be forfeited
  • Less than 19 days prior to trip departure – 100% of your total tour price will be forfeited
  • After trip departure – no refund
 TIT reserves the right to cancel any trip before it is guaranteed to run. If a customer fails to make full payment of the trip 7 days prior to trip date, TIT reserves the right to cancel the tour and retain the deposit.

Payment Methods
 
(1) By Credit Card Authorization Form (We only accept VISA or MASTER Card) – Extra 2% service fee.
(2) Bank transfer (USD or TWD account) – Bank service charge, about 25-30 USD.
(3) Paypal – Extra 4% service fee
 
Or the best way is you have friends or business in Taiwan and you can directly use the bank transfer to us. It’s free. We normally suggest our guests pay by credit card.
 
 Cancellation Policy
– Customers voluntarily cancel the trip
 

In case of trip cancellation, please refer to the policies below:
(1) Before 24 hours or more prior to trip date – Loss of deposit, 30% of total cost.
(2) Less than 24 hours prior to trip date – no refund.
(3) No refund will be made if you voluntarily leave a trip for any reason after the trip has begun.

If you are involuntarily forced to leave a trip for any reason, refunds will be at the discretion of Taiwan Island Tour.

 – Due to force majeure (beyond human control)

Under extraordinary circumstances caused by civil unrest, terrorism, natural disaster or other force majeure, either party may cancel the trip, please refer to the schedule below:

(1) 7 days or more prior to trip departure – we will charge 100USD paper working fee and refund the rest of the amount.

(2) Between 1-7 days prior to trip departure – we will charge 200USD paper working fee and refund the rest of the amount.

(3) Less than 24 hours prior to trip departure – we will charge 300USD paper working fee and refund the rest of the amount.

Taiwan Island Tour reserves the right to cancel any trip, including a guaranteed trip, prior to departure due to force majeure. In such a case, TIT will charge paper working fee and refund the rest of the amount, depending on different situations.

■ Reservation
(1) After discussing with you, your tour consultant will design a customized itinerary the estimated quote for you. Please note the quote is valid for 5 days only.

(2) Once you agree the itinerary and there’s no problem with the quote, we’d like to request for a 30% deposit to confirm the tour. Then we can secure everything you need during the trip, including the accommodations, vehicle and the tour guide. When your deposit has been confirmed, we will send you an invoice for your record.

(3) The remaining 70% balance will be requested 7 days before scheduled tour date, and we will provide the detailed information including pickup time and tour guide’s contact info…etc at the same time.

(4) For tours booked less than 7 days before tour date, 100% full payment is required immediately. Please note the urgent cases may be charged an extra fee for top priority processing.

(5) TIT reserves the right to cancel any trip before it is guaranteed to run. If a customer fails to make full payment of the trip 7 days prior to trip date, TIT reserves the right to cancel the tour and retain the deposit.

Insurance

According to Taiwanese tourism law, we are required to insure all the travelers with travel insurance. Our travel insurance details including: 2 millions NTD life insurance and 200,000 NTD injury insurance. Once you book our tour, please provide your personal information as listed:

Name, nationality, passport number and birthday

If you fail or do not want to provide personal information before departure, it will be understood that you are willing to take the risk and responsibility for your own well-being and TIT will not be held accountable for actions resulting in customer’s injury or death.

Itinerary Validity

All information in the itinerary is accurate to the best of our knowledge but please note that changes to our trips can and do occur. This may be due to our effort to improve our trip or logistical reasons such as changes in train/flight schedules or government policies. Taiwan Island Tour will make every effort to keep you informed of any changes, but cannot be held liable for any alterations made to the published itineraries.

Under extraordinary circumstances caused by civil unrest, terrorism, natural disaster or other force majeure, either party may changed the trip, please refer to the cost sharing as below:

(1) If the customer want to change the travel plan, the customer will pay for the extra cost.
(2) If TIT want to change the travel plan, TIT will pay for the extra cost.

All the changes will be made under the rational communication from both party.
The prices listed are based on the costs and exchange rates current at the time of inquiry. TIT reserves the right to adjust rates without prior notice. Prices are not guaranteed until ticketed.

Responsibility

Traveler’s Responsibility

Travelers have the responsibility to select a trip appropriate to their abilities and interests. In order to assist you we grade each trip by physical and technical difficulty. We are also happy to discuss the trip with you. Travelers are held responsible for being in sufficient good health to undertake the trip. Travelers are responsible for preparing for the trip by studying the itinerary and pre-departure information packets sent by TIT, and for bringing the appropriate clothing and equipment as advised therein.

Taiwan Island Tour Travel’s Responsibility

TIT Travel shall do its utmost to provide the services to the best of its capacity. TIT Travel organizes, promotes, and sells tour programs consisting of certain travel services, including but not limited to, surface transportation, excursions, and accommodations which TIT Travel purchases or reserves from various suppliers. Agents providing travel services for TIT Travel’s tour programs are independent contractors and are not agents or employees of TIT . Thus, the responsibility of TIT  is strictly limited. TIT is not responsible for the willful or negligent acts and /or omissions of such agents or transportation and lodging service providers or their respective employees, or representatives including, without limitation, their failure to deliver or their partial or inadequate delivery of services. All coupons, receipts and tickets are issued subject to the terms and conditions specified by the suppliers. By utilizing the travel services of the suppliers, you agree that neither TIT nor any representative of TIT shall be liable for any accident, injury, costs, property damage or personal loss to you or those traveling with you in connection with any accommodations, transportation or other travel services, or resulting directly or indirectly from any occurrences or conditions beyond TIT’s control, including but not limited to, acts of terrorism, war, defects in vehicles, breakdown of equipment, strikes, theft, delay or cancellation of or changes in itinerary or schedules. TIT is not responsible for expenses incurred by you in preparing for the trip (e.g. non refundable advance purchase air tickets, visa fees, equipment, medical expenses, etc.) or for any necessary additional travel arrangements should you embark from home before the group departure date.

Claim
